Flooding sewer systems can cause untold damage to private properties and in some instances, where multiple floods have occurred, it's feasible future insurance will either be unaffordable or unattainable! There are many causes, but deterioration of our sewer systems, outdated and undersized sewers, combined with a distinct lack of maintenance will certainly be contributary factors. Work or maintenance is invariably reactive and almost never preventative. More needs to be done to reduce flooding!
